- Check your page titles. Look at the tab in your browser when you visit your site. If every page says "Home" or your business name with no other detail, fix that. Each page should have a unique, descriptive title.
- Test your site on your phone. Open every page, tap every button, fill out your contact form. If anything is hard to use or looks broken, fix it before you worry about anything else.
Common Misconceptions
"SEO is a scam." Bad SEO services are a scam. Actual SEO is just building a good website and helping Google understand what it's about. If someone guarantees you the #1 spot on Google, that's a red flag. If someone helps you write better page titles and fix your site speed, that's real work.
"I just need to pay for Google Ads." Ads and SEO are different things. Ads put you at the top of results as long as you keep paying. SEO puts you in the regular results for free. Most people skip the ads and click on the regular results. You want both eventually, but SEO is the long-term play.
"I did SEO once, so I'm done." SEO is ongoing. Google updates its ranking factors regularly. Your competitors are improving their sites. The content that ranked well last year might need a refresh. Think of SEO as maintenance, not a one-time project.
